There are many international borders was opened in a few years ago, such as poipet, pailin, Osmach,koh kong… Please try only the main one that common or easy way such as Poipet, Koh kong. For the visa today the governmemt try to make it easy, you can get it at the border crossing ( Poipet or koh kong ) costing $ 20 for tourist visa and business visa $25.

It 's 465km, 7 hours trip from BKK to Siem Reap. you can take bus or train 4-5 hours from BKK to aranyaprathet ,the town on the Thai side near the border then a short tuk tuk ride the last 6km to the border crossing, from the border (Poipet ) will take 2 hours by taxi ( car) or 2 and half hours by bus company .for the bus package can buy at BKK by agency, however those companies having partner with agency at the border will get commission $6/personfrom hotel or guesthouse in Siem Reap , If you want to get into Siem reap earlier , it 's better to booking ticket just Poipet.

At the border ,sometime the saff of agencies in Thai side push to buy the ticket or arrange taxi to get commission, Please don't listen to them, you can arrange taxi or bus from terminal bus station, the taxi will costs 12$/person or bus 9$/person from Poipet to Siem reap, if you can combine with other people would be great. Note : Do not change the money at the border. You can run visa by yourself at the police station 20$ plus 100Bath per person. Don't run visa throught tour company. A. Direct to Siem Reap:
“search for the transportation as telling above” The drive will take 2 and half hoursto Siem reap, Now the road is very good condition. Bus or Taxi will leaves daily from Poipet at 7h00am until 5h00pm. The high way No 6 from Poipet to Siem Reap has been reconstructed. The bus stops for food in Kralanh Disrict, (45 km from Siem Reap),

B. Siem Reap via Battembang:
From Poipet, first take taxi to Battembang passing Sisophon or you can search for small around $7-$8/person direct to Battembang, then you might stay one night in Battembang( Royal hotel is a good one, locate in the central of town) and catch the boat to Siem Reap on the next day. For boat ticket can buy at the hotel or the ferry costing $12-$13. In BKK the ticket can booking at the agency in New Siam G.H "Mr Arlek". The bus will leave around 8h00AM and arrive Trat at 1h00PM and catch taxi from Trat to Hat Lek ( border) costing 100B, Stamp the Visa and take the taxi to Neang kok ( 50B/person), then crossing the small boat to koh kong town (20B). you will need to stay one night in there. the hotels are cheap ,250B-350B for room with Air condition. the boat costs 500B,leave for Sihanouk vill every day at 7h00AM, it ‘s only one boat a day. it ‘s possible to approach to PNH by same day. The Capitol tour, big Air condition bus costs 12000Riel, run from Sihanouk Vill to PNH. In PNH, you should stay at Capitol hotel or last home G.H that located in the central of the city and it ‘s reasonable price. the boat to Siem Reap, it ‘s better to booking through the hotel that you stayed to be easy in organizing because the boat leave early in the morning.
